Superchlon LQ1601S
SUPERCHLON® LQ-1601S
4. Introduction
SUPERCHLON LQ-1601S is a chlorinated polypropylene (CPP), which is specially developed as a binder for PP films and as a raw material for acrylic modified CPP.
5. General properties
Appearance: Pale-yellow to light-brown pellet Odor: Slight resin odor
Free chlorine: None
Good solvents: Aromatic hydrocarbons (e.g. toluene and xylene) Alicyclic hydrocarbons (e.g. methylcyclohexane)
Aliphatic hydrocarbons (e.g. n-hexane), esters (e.g. ethyl acetate), ketones (e.g. MEK and MIBK) and alcohols (e.g. IPA and n-butanol) can be used as diluents after dissolution of LQ-1601S with good solvents.
6. Typical data (provisional value)
Chlorine content (wt%): 27.0 - 29.0 Viscosity (mPa∙s @25 °C): 100 - 800
Gardner Color No.: 6 or less
Viscosity and color measurement: 30 wt% toluene solution
100 - 800
Gardner Color No.: 6 or less
Viscosity and color measurement: 30 wt% toluene solution
These properties are typical of average lots. Nippon Paper makes no representation that the material in any particular shipment will conform to the listed properties.
Handling Instruction : The solution of this product has a nature to cause viscosity increase, gelling and fine particles in winter season, but in terms of its performance, this will not be an issue if warm up to 40-50°C (104-122°F) again when using.
All information is given in good faith, but without warranty. Freedom from patent restrictions should not be assumed.
7. Solubility Test
Table 1 shows the result of solubility test, where LQ-1601S was dissolved in various solvents to be 20 wt% solution.
C : Clear with good fluidity H : Hazy with fluidity
P : No fluidity or insoluble
